First pics of the year are of the UK Railtours trip to High Marnham, mostly taken at the former LD&ECR station at Ollerton, including shots of the presenting of cheques to Action for Children charity, taken for & on behalf of the RIDC. A short hop to Thoresby on the 9th, for 66742, thats another one 'chalked off' at Thoresby. On the 10th I went to Clay Cross for 56301, and yes, the sun disappeared after shining for most of the day!!

130105-001     Ollerton station up platform on Network Rail's Rail Innovation & Development Centre awaiting the arrival of UK Railtours High Marnham & Tinsley Railtour. Network Rail have advised that they also intend to clear the disused down platform for occassional railtour use. The station was built by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway & closed to regular passenger services by BR, on 19th September 1955.
130105-003     DB Schenker class 66/0 no. 66103, captured arriving at Ollerton station, on the Rail Innovation & Development Centre. It was leading 'The High Marnham and Tinsley', train 1Z56, 07.25 Finsbury Park - High Marnham, the first leg of a UK Railtours outing. The train was 'top & tailed' with classmate no. 66154 out of sight at the rear.

It was leading 'The High Marnham and Tinsley', train 1Z56, 07.25 Finsbury Park - High Marnham, the first leg of a UK Railtours outing. 130105-007     The UK Railtours excursion, The High Marnham & Tinsley on Saturday 5th January 2013 raised almost £3000 for Network Rail's Corporate Charity for 2013 - Action For Children. Nick Clare (left) who manages the RIDC for Network Rail and John Farrow Managing Director UK Railtours (right) present Action For Children co-ordinator Marie Von-Wurzbach with one of two cheques for money raised as a result of running the Railtour. The presentation was made during a break at Ollerton.
