First pics this month are at Sutton in Ashfield, I nipped out for a Cottam - Portbury, which I assumed would be empty coal hoppers, but I was wrong, it was gypsum. Don't know if this is a one-off or the start of a new flow but it made a nice change.
5th march, a class 56 working off Thoresby !!, a few pics of class 56 no 56311 at Thoresby colliery junc. with the empty wagons from the first BARS operated Butterwell opencast - Thoresby.

130305-001 After a short absence the Butterwell to Thoresby flow of coal for washing & blending has restarted, but now, for the first time, in the hands of BARS (British American Railway Services). As before the loaded train runs overnight, here we see class 56 no. 56311 at a very foggyThoresby colliery junction, having reversed off the colliery branch with the empty JNA wagons. How long since a class 56 last worked to Thoresby ?. Hopefully the flow will last long enough to capture it in better light and with all the BARS 56's having a turn on it.
